On December 5th, 2023, the Chairman and Founder of ICA-Finance, Torleif Haugland, took stage at COP28 in an event organized by Climate Investment (CI) at the IETA Business Hub to discuss the vital role of carbon markets in global industrial decarbonization.

The gathering brought together industry leaders, project developers, regulators, and buyers from the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), 75F, Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), Accenture, and Oxy. The discussion centred on how carbon markets can effectively support the deployment of commercial decarbonization technologies and businesses into the developing world.

Torleif shared insights alongside panellists Sarah Kassis Izzat, Pedro Martins Barata, Gaurav Burman, Mark Kenber, and Mauricio Bermudez Neubauer.

We congratulate the organizers and participants for the success of the event and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to advance global climate finance, carbon markets and emissions reduction initiatives.
