The event, hosted at the Government of Iraq Pavilion, was a crucial part of the conference's discussions on reducing emissions and advancing decarbonization in Iraq.

Arne Peder Blix, alongside stakeholders from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and GE Vernova, participated in a panel discussion on decarbonization and emission reduction solutions for Iraq alongside Dr. Abdulbaki, Rasheed Al Janabi, and MP Amanj Mahmood Assad Harki, moderated by Dr. Nadheer Fazaa. The panel addressed the challenges and strategies related to large-scale national emission reduction efforts and initiatives aiming to make Iraq's energy sector more sustainable.

We are excited to be on the ground in Iraq contributing and supporting the nation’s emission reduction efforts and leveraging our expertise in climate finance tools to turn opportunities into reality.

Our involvement at COP28 reflects our dedication to environmental stewardship and support for Iraq's sustainable development and decarbonization initiatives. We believe in the power of collaboration and strive to contribute to shaping a cleaner and more sustainable future  in Iraq and the wider region.
